Suitable for room temperature or cold water ONLY.
Crafted by the husband and wife duo, Daisaku Hashimura and Michi Nomi, from handblown glass, this Raku-style chawan presents a lovely crackle effect and unique character. Its rustic aesthetic disguises a delicate, smooth touch, creating beautiful shadows when illuminated. Exquisite detail is evident in the indent of the foot, the angle of the walls, the "Chadame" where the matcha sits inside the bowl, and the thickness of the lip. The tone of the glass is crystal clear, high-pitched, and indicative of its quality. Although making matcha with cold water produces less foam, it enhances our premium matcha selections' natural sweetness and umami. This matcha bowl series was specially commissioned for Tea Dealers.
The nature of hand-blown glass creates differences in size, shape, and bubble/cracking effects.
