Each piece is crafted by hand from a single sand-cast mold, where the intricate design and texture are pressed into place. The kettle-making process revolves entirely around the mold, utilizing tools and stamps passed down through generations, ensuring a touch of traditional artistry in every modern piece. The mold is then expertly formed and designed before molten iron is poured in, left to cool and solidify for several days, and finally freed from its sand womb. Due to the high demand for Morihisa kettles, there is a waitlist of 2-3 years, making our selection the largest worldwide and available for immediate shipping.

Notes:
The kettle is meant to be placed on an open flame or magnetic induction and removed using copper rings. Water is drawn using a traditional bamboo Hishaku. It is recommended to use the smallest burner when placing on the stove, keeping the flame on medium/low, and avoiding having the flame climb up the sides and leave marks on the kettle.
It comes in a signed wooden box, including kan kettle rings and a Tanimura hishaku bamboo ladle. All our wares are made with the highest-grade materials tested for heavy metals and strictly conform to all food-safe use standards.
