After two years of aging, our 2022 vintage of Huang Shan Puerh (荒山), or "Desolate Mountain," is crafted from hand-picked tea leaves grown on a naturally cultivated farm from 70-year-old trees. We have moved away from the traditional gravity stone pressing method and instead opted to pack our Sheng puerh using hydraulic pressed brick form, measuring the release of flavor and potential for aging in a raw cake. We conducted a side-by-side tasting with the previous vintage, Huang Shan 2017, and uncovered fascinating insights on the evolution of tea-making techniques used to produce this tea from the same trees. This exquisite new version maintains its youthful green vigor with a fantastic vintage after a lengthy drought season. Get one for storage and another for immediate enjoyment!
