This is an exceptional quality sencha that won third place at the Kansai regional competition. It was produced in a small batch of only 3kg using asa-mushi, which is a light steaming method. The tea was hand-picked, hand-rolled, and aged for one year to deepen and balance its taste. The result is a sencha that is perfect for brewing in your finest Japanese kyusu. The long, pine-shaped needles have a beautiful luster, uniform shape, and a deep green color. The fluorescent color of the leaves indicates that the tea was made using baby leaves picked in the first week of April, which are packed with the stored nutrients of the tea plant. The taste is elegant, with a refined astringency that lingers on the palate and reawakens with every exhale.
